From Mentee to Marketing Intern

From being a mentee to now interning at the TeamMates National Office, we are thrilled to welcome Jacie Ambrose as our new Marketing Intern.

Ambrose, a junior at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and minoring in communications. She previously graduated from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE, with degrees in Business Administration and Media Arts and Journalism.

On campus, Ambrose serves as Vice President of the University’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA-C) Chapter and Vice President of Communications for the Nebraska state association of FBLA-C. She has also interned with Ag News Daily Corp. and WJAG Radio.

A former TeamMates mentee, Ambrose credits her success to the mentorship she received in the program. She joined TeamMates in fifth grade at St. Paul Public Schools in St. Paul, NE, influenced by her two sisters who were also mentees.

Ambrose explained why she joined TeamMates and how it has impacted her.

“I am a triplet and growing up in a busy family was great, but I remember craving a relationship with someone who did not know me as ‘one of the triplets’ and I wanted to connect with an adult who could support me,” she explained. “I was in TeamMates for seven years and it has made me the person who I am today, I learned how to carry myself and become the young adult I always wanted to be.”

Ambrose was matched with her mentor, Judy Johnson, from fifth grade until she graduated high school in 2023. Her experience with TeamMates inspired her to apply for the marketing internship at the national office.

“TeamMates and Judy gave me so much when I was a mentee in the program, I want to be able to give back to the program that helped me so much as a student, and this position seemed like a great opportunity to do just that.” Jacie explained. “I am excited to be a part of a team that focuses on the success of students who I was just like not too long ago!”
